Overview

Senior Health and Safety Business Partner - Construction & Demolition at Cleanaway Waste Management. This is a hands-on, on-site safety leadership role within the Construction & Demolition team, focused on real-world safety leadership in fast-paced, high-risk environments.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead from the ground up: Be a visible safety leader across sites, partnering with frontline teams and operational leaders to create safer ways of working.
  • Grow capability: Mentor and support a team of HSE professionals, helping them develop into the next generation of impactful safety leaders.
  • Turn knowledge into action: Support sites in applying best practices to prevent injury and illness.
  • Drive projects that matter: Deliver targeted safety initiatives and embed key elements of Cleanaway's HSE Roadmap to reduce risk and improve performance.
  • Empower People: Influence and guide people on safety effectiveness, capability, and operational best practices.
  • Be the link to regulators: Manage reporting, relationships, and responses to ensure compliance and engagement.

You're a natural leader who's confident managing people, navigating complex environments, and rolling up your sleeves when needed. You'll Bring
  • Significant health & safety leadership experience in high-risk, blue-collar industries (transport, logistics, manufacturing, or similar).
  • Proven management skills—you know how to lead, influence, and engage both up and down the chain of command.
  • A love of being on-site and on the move—this role involves regular travel across multiple depots and regions.
  • Strong incident investigation, risk assessment, and coaching skills.
  • A passion for cultural change and an ability to embed safety into everyday operations.
