Responsibilities
  • Pick up and safely transport goods and deliver materials to various projects or intended destinations within the metropolitan area.
  • Ensure completion of the scheduled runsheet within your shift and keep accurate records of deliveries and pickups, providing the completed runsheet to the office at the end of your shift.
  • Drive safely and follow all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Keep the company truck clean and ensure it is well-maintained, with fuel, oil, and road compliance.
  • Perform yard work as required, including deliveries and forklift operation, and manual loading/unloading of freight.
  • Complete consignment notes and POD receipts and liaise with business owners on a daily basis.
  • Adhere to strict fatigue and safety procedures, and communicate with the office by phone to update issues or concerns related to the driver's run.
  • Follow scheduled jobs as per the provided runsheet and maintain communication with management regarding any damage to customer or company property.
  • Treat customers with respect and provide outstanding customer service; maintain a solid understanding of fatigue management.
Requirements
  • MR/HR Driving License with minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Previous experience working in a sensitive freight environment.
  • Positive disposition and high personal standards; team player and flexible.
  • Well-presented with excellent communication skills; productive/solution-minded work habits; focus on customer service.
  • Willing to contribute and learn; multi-skilled with experience in the construction industry preferred.
  • Experience is valuable; however reliability, motivation, and positive attitude are essential.
  • Working rights required for this role; operating out of Southern River and transporting goods to various sites in the metropolitan area.
