ABOUT THIS ROLE:

As a JJ's Mines & Heavy Industry Services Manager, you will support our Central Queensland depot operations across the Bowen Basin and Mackay region.

No day will be the same – this position is well suited to an adaptable professional with the ability to multi-task and problem solve.

Supporting the regional contracts manager in all facets of contract service delivery, you will work across a wide cross section of both internal & external stakeholders.

We equip our contracts managers with a strong working knowledge of our business, so they can operate and communicate and confidently.

Professionalism, expertise, and a sense of urgency are all critical to success in the role. We are an essential services industry, offering stability to employees and reliability to our customers.

This position is a permanent, full-time Monday to Friday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the Major Contracts manager in all aspects of successful contract delivery across multiple clients and sites in the Bowen Basin.
• Contribute to delivering ongoing business improvement opportunities through JJs on-site supervisors and operators
• Participate & conduct Toolbox talks with internal and external staff on contract waste management strategies & improvements
• Strong focus on communication and establishing and managing effective on-site relationships with relative 3rd party stakeholders & internal supervisors
• Participate in incident investigations, notifications and corrective actions as required
• Audit and report on waste infrastructure and asset conditions, liaise with depots on refurbishment programs
• Practice and contribute to site safety and compliance
• Work to implement Environmental and safety improvements across both new and existing sites
• Liaise and contribute to administration teams in relation to contract interpretation, billing and reporting.
• Contribute to commercial contract tenders, negotiations, pricing and mobilisation programs as required

ABOUT YOU

• Be driven and ambitious by nature, you love the thrill of winning new business and nurturing existing clients
• Have strong verbal and written communication, presentation skills and be well-presented
• Focus on safety and ability to be involved in risk assessments and other mining operational requirements
• Ability to travel and spend time in mining camps and JJs housing as required.
• Invoice and reporting analysis and audits with strong administrative skills.
• Experience in client site audits, hazard inspections, KPI reviews and presentations.
• Be motivated & love to work autonomously and you enjoy being part of a larger team
• Have a strong attention to detail; you are thorough and methodical in your approach.
• Be dedicated and reliable; we are an essential services industry
• Have well-developed people and relationship skills
• Current CBM and G1, G8 & G9 certifications desirable.
