Our engineering apprenticeship is a four-year program combining theory training with our RTO partners, in-house training courses, and practical On-the-job training in our Engineering businesses. You'll rotate through relevant business areas applicable to the relevant trade, receiving hands-on training on Qantas Group and customer aircraft.
- Typically your role will include;
Mechanical Apprentice - maintains, inspect and undertake fault diagnosis of airframe, engine systems and mechanical components and accessories on aircraft. These include undercarriage, wheels and brakes, pressurisation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, flight control systems, engine control systems and pressurisation and environmental control systems.
You'll have –
- A demonstrated mechanical aptitude with an eagerness to learn a hands-on trade
- A proactive attitude toward learning and applying safe work practices
- A high level of motivation and passion to want to be part of the aviation sector
- Exceptional teamwork
- Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
- Good hand skills with the ability to use a variety of tooling
- Australian Citizenship or hold Australian Permanent Residency Status
- Ability to work all shift patterns
- Must be available to start work from early 2026
