Key Responsibilities

As a Cook at dnata Catering, your main responsibility is to prepare exquisite, gourmet meals specifically designed for airline customers. You will work closely with the culinary team to prepare menu selections that offer a wide range of delicious options while adhering to the unique requirements of in-flight dining. Attention to detail and a passion for culinary arts are essential, as you will ensure all meals are prepared and presented with precision and elegance. Your creativity and ability to work efficiently under pressure will contribute to creating an unforgettable culinary journey for customers in the skies.

dnata is one of the world's largest air services providers, established in 1959, operating in 127 airports worldwide. It offers ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering services in 35 countries across six continents, serving over 300 airline customers daily.

You WillESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to prepare gourmet meals for airline customers.
  • Ensure meals are prepared and presented with precision, paying attention to flavor and presentation.
  • Follow the requirements of in-flight dining, considering space and dietary restrictions.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and taste.
  • Assist in developing and refining menu options.
  • Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
  • Train and mentor junior cooks.
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics for timely ingredient delivery.
  • Incorporate industry trends and new techniques into menu creation.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently under deadlines.
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary: $23.00 per hour, influenced by experience, qualifications, and location.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Cook or Chef, preferably in high-volume or airline catering.
  • Knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and presentation.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Valid food handler's certificate or equivalent.
Additional Demands and Environment

Requires multi-tasking, attention to detail, punctuality, physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 30 pounds, and work indoors with variable noise levels.
