Company Description

We are looking for an Experienced Head Nurse who has strong communication and team building skills and previous experience leading and motivating a high functioning nursing team We pride ourselves on being an exceptionally well-performing team, able to utilise each other's skills and work together - this is a great opportunity for a Vet Nurse looking to be a part of a team-based environment within a strong, supportive and wonderful team

The Responsibilities Of This Position Will Include
  • Managing a team of Vet Nurses and supporting busy Vets
  • Guiding and developing the Nurse team, building a positive team culture
  • Undertaking general nursing tasks, including pre and post-operative care, animal pathology and emergency and critical care
  • Taking initiative to enhance clinic operations and efficiency
  • Collaborating with the veterinary team to ensure high standards of patient care
  • Handling client enquiries professionally in person, by email and over the phone
  • Managing stock inventory to enable high quality of patient care
  • Organising maintenance and repairs of equipment in conjunction with the practice manager
Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a person who is proudly professional and passionate about nursing, maintaining clinical standards, driving improvement, fear free/stress free handling and making sure that every animal who crosses our doorstep gets the best possible standard of care

  • Holds a Cert IV qualification in Veterinary Nursing with minimum of 2+ years of experience
  • Experience coaching and mentoring Vet Nurses
  • Possesses strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
  • Strong knowledge of surgical nursing techniques and procedures
  • A calm and friendly presence
  • Great communication and customer service skills
  • Flexible and adaptable within a team environment
  • Knowledge of RX Works ideal but not essential
