About the Role:

We're looking for a dynamic and highly organised Project Officer to drive impactful learning and teaching professional development initiatives and deliver exceptional events that inspire and connect.

In this exciting role, you'll take the lead in planning and executing the WA Teaching and Learning Forum to be hosted at Curtin University in 2026 and 2027, working closely with key stakeholders across Western Australian universities. From concept to completion, you'll be at the heart of event logistics, ensuring seamless coordination, budget management, and an outstanding experience for participants. You will also play a vital role in hosting national and international visitors to the university.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead the planning and delivery of Teaching and Learning related events and projects.
  • Coordinate project communications, liaise with key internal and external stakeholders, provide executive support to committees, and ensure smooth collaboration across all event initiatives.
  • Oversee event budgets, track financials, and implement cost-effective solutions to maximise resources while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
  • Implement and monitor project plans, track progress against schedules, identify and mitigate risks, and provide regular reports to stakeholders to ensure successful event and project outcomes.
We are looking for:
  • Strong project and event management skills, with the ability to plan and deliver events from start to finish, including logistics, budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and construct clear, concise reports.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in event management within the tertiary education sector or large organisations (highly desired).
Role Requirements:
  • As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
