Mercure Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia — Breakfast Chef (Full-time)

Mercure Newcastle is seeking a full-time Breakfast Chef to join its kitchen team. The role involves preparing and serving a diverse range of breakfast dishes, from traditional full hot breakfast to healthier and continental options, and managing the breakfast section to ensure timely, high-quality, and well-presented food.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook and serve food for the breakfast buffet showing variety and flair
  • Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage following stock control procedures
  • Keep all working areas clean and tidy. Chef is required to wash all dishes during service
  • Assist with in-house functions, restaurant and cafe food as required
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned. Report any problems to the Food & Beverage Operations Manager
Qualifications
  • Experience in buffet breakfast service preferred
  • Deliver consistent, high quality food while maintaining set food cost
  • Work in conjunction with service teams to ensure quality product and service to guests
  • Have great communication skills & a positive attitude
  • Have excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Have willingness to learn and go above and beyond for our guests
