The Role

We're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing/Inventory Controller to manage procurement and inventory processes across our business. This role is critical in ensuring materials are sourced efficiently, stock levels are maintained accurately, and supplier relationships are nurtured.

Key Responsibilities

Manage purchasing of steel and related materials from local and national suppliers

Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels across multiple product lines

Coordinate with production and sales teams to forecast demand and plan procurement

Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers

Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory movements, and supplier performance

Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards

About You

Proven experience in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain management

Strong negotiation and communication skills

High attention to detail and analytical thinking

Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Experience in the steel or construction industry is highly regarded
