Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre is set to open in mid 2026 on the Geelong Waterfront. Nyaal Banyul will be Australia's newest convention and event centre. Operated by the Victorian Convention and Event Trust (VCET), this premier venue features a 1,000-seat theatre and 3,700 square meters of versatile event space, ready to host everything from community gatherings to major conferences and entertainment events. Located in a vibrant city known for its rich history, stunning waterfront, and thriving arts scene, Nyaal Banyul is a place where everyone is invited to share stories, connect, and celebrate special moments.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Audio Visual Event Project Manager to support customers with the technical quotes, and the successful delivery of events at Nyaal Banyul, with a primary focus on the customer experience. The role provides subject matter expertise on audio visual offerings, and timely event specific quotations during the enquiry and planning stages of all events. The role is focused on effective management and coordination of multiple key stakeholders so that a high level of service can be delivered to clients. This role will also develop price lists and a suite of product offerings, in accordance with the VCET standards and frameworks. This role will require work to be performed outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet event requirements and client needs, with regular after-hours contact expected.

Responsibilities

• Work in tandem with Sales & Planning Managers to pick up sales enquiries
• Oversee and support the presentation, preparation and follow-up of AV proposals
• Assist in detailed site inspections with clients, key stakeholders and industry partners
• Manage and maintain data integrity of the CRM and ensure all event information that is entered is accurate and relevant at point of sale and through to Event delivery
• Provide customers with an experience that meets or exceeds their expectations by providing thorough plans, scheduling and documentation
• Prepare event orders, floor plans and other written information in detail as required for each allocated event
• Ensure post event feedback is gathered for each event, and shared accordingly

Audio Visual Event Operations

• Partner with customers and their contractors (where applicable) and with AV Production to ensure that all their requirements are met
• Liaise with internal operational departments to ensure that customer needs are consistently met in a timely and well-coordinated manner
• Brief the relevant employees for each event, communicating all customer expectations and objectives via relevant tools/preparation of thorough event handovers
• Remain as the primary contact for the Audio Visual aspects of events, acting as the conduit between internal and external stakeholders of Nyaal Banyul
• Assist Senior Manager, Audio Visual in driving team programs as directed with a focus on financial sustainability and exceeding customer expectations.
• Complete forecasting and reporting of event budgets against revenue targets.
• Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets.
• Ensure event orders are closed in Momentus within defined timeframes to achieve accurate and timely billing.

Qualifications

To be the successful applicant for this exciting new role you will ideally be able to demonstrate the below skills / previous experience:

Required Skills

• Construction (White) Card
• EWP (Significant demonstrated technical experience in Audio Visual Sales and Account Management)
• A successful track record in interpreting and delivering client expectations and needs
• A high level of verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage customers
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Strong understanding of all audio visual disciplines including audio, lighting, video, rigging, vision and staging systems
• Familiarity with venue operations and safety protocols
• Prior experience in Event Design and Production Management
• Experienced user of audio visual event systems, including Vectorworks Spotlight

Preferred Skills

• Possession of relevant tertiary qualification
• Intermediate or higher rigging qualification
• Experience in project coordination, managing timelines, resources, and customer experience
• A strong track record of problem-solving under pressure in a fast-paced or live environment.
• Experience in using Ungerboeck/Momentus for event planning
