Join Explorers Early Learning as our Operations Coordinator and play a key role in keeping our daily operations running smoothly while ensuring we continue to meet and exceed childcare compliance standards.

About Explorers

Explorers Early Learning is a family-owned and operated group of early childhood centres across Melbourne. Our approach is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, placing children's creativity, curiosity and relationships at the centre of learning. We're proud to be known for our high-quality learning environments, strong leadership, and commitment to exceeding the National Quality Standards. Our South Melbourne Head Office is a modern, vibrant hub just minutes from the CBD, featuring collaborative workspaces, state-of-the-art training facilities, and a passionate team focused on supporting our centres and their communities.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, the Operations Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of our business. You\'ll coordinate administrative processes, streamline workflows, and help ensure the timely execution of critical operational tasks. This role also acts as a vital link between our operational team, management, and centre-based staff—making sure communication is clear, consistent, and aligned with regulatory and organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor day-to-day operational activities to ensure efficiency and compliance across operational processes and procedures
  • Assist with tracking and execution of operational initiatives and project timelines
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and records
  • Act as a key liaison between business units, ensuring effective communication and follow-through
  • Coordinate the operational setup of new centres in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Support the implementation of the company's pedagogical philosophy and learning framework across services
  • Support compliance processes such as audits, policy reviews, and implementation of updated regulations
  • Collaborate with Centre Leaders to follow up on action items and monitor quality improvements
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and manage project logistics
About You

You thrive in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment and bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. You enjoy working with people across departments and have a genuine interest in early childhood education and compliance.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask across competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use project management and tracking tools (e.g., Excel, Trello, Asana)
  • Basic understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and childcare regulations—or a strong willingness to learn
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in business administration, operations, project coordination, or early childhood education (advantageous but not essential)
Why Join Explorers?
  • Work in a supportive, collaborative environment with room to grow
  • Gain exposure to high-impact projects and senior leadership
  • Be part of a values-led organisation focused on children, families, and staff wellbeing
  • Enjoy our modern South Melbourne office with easy access to transport, cafes, and the city
  • Access to ongoing learning, mentorship and development pathways

Explorers is committed to being a flexible, safe, equal, and inclusive workplace where we embrace and support diversity.
