Veterinary Surgeon

Ayres Veterinary Hospital in North Shields is looking for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon. Ideally a surgery certificate holder to join the team. This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, including a 1 in 6 weekend day rota. Salary up to £75k, dependent on experience, plus benefits.

The successful Veterinary Surgeon would ideally manage surgical cases referred internally from colleagues and work alongside our vets to manage a variety of cases at a first opinion level. We have a friendly and supportive team and benefit from support within other CVS practices locally. There is hospital provision with overnight vet and nurse cover, allowing care for patients 24 hours a day. If the successful candidate wishes to be integrated into the night service with associated TOIL, this could be accommodated.

Ayres Veterinary Group has its main site in North Shields with branch surgeries in Whitley Bay, Cramlington and Cleadon. We pride ourselves on high clinical standards and a strong work-up culture. Since moving to a purpose-built site in July 2024, we have added a CT into our hospital setup. We are part of a wider group and community, CVS Group Plc.
