Responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical assistance to the dentist and maintaining a comfortable environment for patients and members
  • Complying with HCF Dental Quality Management System and policies
  • Maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment
  • Supporting the Practice Manager and Dentist in Charge to ensure efficient operation

Patient flow management:

  • Monitoring patient schedules and accommodating emergencies
  • Coordinating with the dentist and reception for appointments and payments

Chairside assisting:

  • Preparing instruments and materials for each patient
  • Assisting the dentist during procedures
  • Handling instrument transfer, material mixing, and data entry
  • Developing radiographs

Surgery organization:

  • Maintaining infection control and surgery cleanliness
  • Managing waste and equipment maintenance
  • Assisting in other areas as required

Sterile supply unit:

  • Preparing and sterilizing instruments and handpieces
  • Maintaining stock levels and processing contaminated instruments

Job requirements:

  • Dental knowledge and experience
  • Confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Initiative, common sense, and basic computer skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in reception or interest in cross-training
  • Qualifications in radiography, sterilization, or first aid
  • Certificate III in dental assisting
