We are excited to announce a key opportunity at Orica for a developer within our Digital Solutions team. Orica's Digital Solutions seamlessly connects our customers' physical and digital worlds so they can readily understand and optimise their operations at every step of the value chain, from exploration to processing, empowering smarter, data-driven decisions. Our business is profitable with a large growth potential. We seek a developer who loves working in a diverse team solving complex problems with simple solutions. You will work with Product Managers, Engineers, Business Analysts, UX and Subject Matter Experts to build the next generation of blast design tools. Your role will involve bringing creative solutions to a level of polish and experience worthy of enterprise deployment ensuring seamless integration of our software with the practical needs of our customers.

You will be based in Australia and work with other teams geographically distributed across Australia and overseas. We are very flexible on location, remote work and office locations.

What you will be doing

As a developer, you'll be contributing to the creation of next-generation 3D blast design tools by collaborating with a cross-functional team to deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions. Your role will involve designing and implementing advanced algorithms, crafting seamless and engaging user experiences, and working within a flexible, remote setup that encourages teamwork and support.

What you will bring
  • Proficiency in C# or similar programming languages
  • Experience with large 3D datasets and spatial algorithm development
  • Understanding of 3D rendering fundamentals and low-level graphics APIs such as OpenGL, DirectX, or Vulkan
  • User interface and workflow design experience, with a focus on usability and performance
  • Ability to write high-performance algorithms for computationally intensive tasks
  • Proven success in cross-functional team environments, delivering robust and high-quality software
  • Experience developing mining software or working within mining-related domains
  • Basic knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Familiarity with 3D modelling or CAD tools, such as Blender, AutoCAD, or similar platforms
