About the Client:

This well-established Australian retail business operates a national footprint of company-owned stores and continues to invest in improving performance, systems, and financial visibility across its network. With strong leadership and a collaborative culture, they're focused on building out the right capability in finance to support decision-making and growth. This newly created role sits within their head office in Sydney CBD.

About the Role:

This is a commercially focused Finance Business Partner role with a strong lens on performance, reporting, and decision support. You'll work closely with state and national operational teams to ensure financial insights are driving better outcomes across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with operations and commercial teams to guide decisions around pricing, store performance, and capital planning
• Preparing month-end reporting packs with commentary, insights, and trend analysis
• Leading financial input into business reviews and planning sessions with senior stakeholders
• Delivering budgets and forecasts across multiple cost centres and revenue lines
• Providing analysis on store sales, profitability, and investment opportunities
• Supporting the development of board-level reporting and business cases
• Improving reporting tools and processes to enhance accuracy and speed

About You:

You're a commercially minded finance professional with a background in commercial finance:

• 4-5 years'+ experience in a commercial finance role within ideally retail, product based or multi-site environments (open to potential other industries for standout candidates)
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively
• A process-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
• Experience working cross-functionally and presenting to senior stakeholders
