About the role

As a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) within the Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU) at Mater Mothers Hospital, you will work in a dynamic healthcare environment. We value passion, enthusiasm, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.

As part of the NCCU leadership team, you will promote values-based care, grounded in evidence-based practices and aligned with Mater's quadruple-aim initiatives. You will develop collaborative relationships with consumers, leaders, colleagues, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and efficient clinical practice tailored to patient needs. Your work will align with Mater Health Service's strategic directions, fostering continuous improvement.

This is a permanent, full-time position.

Salary range : $ $72.58 (RN3) per hour plus 12% superannuation.

What you'll be doing

Your focus will be on quality, research, and education, acting as a clinical leader and expert in the unit.

As a valued team member, you will:

• Provide clinical expertise in reviewing and implementing advanced clinical practices based on evidence and standards.
• Demonstrate leadership that promotes evidence-based, innovative approaches to neonatal care, service delivery, and research.
• Offer expert clinical advice and develop effective education programs to enhance nursing capabilities.
• Translate evidence into practice and foster collegial relationships within and outside the organization.

About you :

To succeed, you will:

• Hold current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions.
• Have at least 5 years of full-time equivalent neonatal nursing experience.
• Demonstrate clinical leadership, supervision, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Be capable of providing consultancy support to nurses and health professionals.
• Engage actively in quality improvement activities focused on clinical care standards.
• Possess or be working towards a master's qualification (essential).
