Your New Role

This is a unique opportunity to take on a specialist leadership position supporting Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) within Metro South Health. As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will lead clinical excellence, support complex decision-making, and ensure safe, compassionate care aligned with ethical, legal and professional standards.

• Provide expert nursing consultancy and direct/indirect care within the VAD Support Unit across a range of clinical settings.
• Collaborate with Nurse Unit Managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure evidence-based, person-centred, and safe service delivery.
• Drive the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical guidelines, education programs and system-wide quality initiatives.
• Act as a key clinical leader in VAD services, contributing to innovation, research, workforce capability, and service transformation.
  
  

About you:

You are a highly skilled and compassionate nursing professional with a deep understanding of complex clinical, ethical, and legislative issues involved in Voluntary Assisted Dying.

• Demonstrated advanced clinical expertise and leadership in nursing practice, with the ability to support sensitive care decisions across diverse settings.
• Proven ability to influence clinical service development, lead change, and promote evidence-based, patient-centred care.
• Strong interpersonal, education and mentoring skills with the ability to build capability and confidence within healthcare teams.
• Committed to continuous improvement, professional development, and driving innovation to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
