About the Role

As an Inclusive Education Assistant, you will support the learning and wellbeing of students across Years 7–12. You will work under the direction of the Head of Inclusive Education to provide individualised and small group support, assist with learning strategies, and help foster student independence and confidence in the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Work with individual students and small groups to support engagement and achievement.
  • Assist students with Individual Learning Plans and those with diverse learning and behavioural needs.
  • Provide learning support by reinforcing skills, concepts, and instructions in class activities.
  • Liaise with teachers and Inclusive Education staff to provide feedback on student progress.
  • Support students with approved special provisions during assessments and exams.
  • Maintain accurate records of student support and contribute to case notes and progress monitoring.

About You

You are an empathetic, adaptable, and proactive professional with a genuine commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team are essential.

You will bring

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Calm, dependable, and resilient in supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and ability to encourage independence and confidence in students.
  • Organisational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs in an educational setting (highly regarded).
  • Proficiency in using technology to support learning and administration.

Requirements for Employment

  • Current Working with Children Check (South Australia)
  • Current Plink RRHAN-EC training: Masterclass and Fundamentals (including Protective Practices)
  • First Aid and CPR
