  We're seeking a qualified individual to help improve the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of the transport network in Hobsons Bay. As a Traffic and Transport Engineer, you'll develop innovative solutions to transport and traffic challenges, with a strong customer-first approach and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
  
  What You'll Be Working On
  • Lead investigations and provide expert solutions for complex traffic and transport issues, including customer inquiries, town planning referrals, and statutory compliance.
  • Plan, design, and deliver transport capital works projects, prepare advocacy documents for grant applications, and support the implementation of integrated transport strategies and Local Area Movement Plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote sustainable, safe, and efficient transport solutions that align with legislation and council priorities, while minimizing community disruption.
    
    
  What you need to succeed:
  • A tertiary qualification in engineering with experience in traffic and transport planning.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic management legislation, guidelines, and sustainable transport strategies.
  • Project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and concept design.
  • Experience with tools such as VISSIM, SIDRA, AutoCAD, and traffic management planning software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent community consultation and stakeholder engagement skills with a customer-first mindset.
