In this role, you'll:

You will be working as part of the Sydney Metro Legal team sitting within Legal, Audit & Integrity Branch. This role will see you manage general legal matters primarily in relation to governance, delegations, probity, investigations, and inquiries. Reporting to the Director Legal, Integrity & Audit you will be a senior lawyer in the team providing solutions‑focused independent advice to support the achievement of organisational outcomes, minimise legal risk and deliver on our commitments to our customers, the people of NSW.

About you
  • You are a seasoned lawyer who holds a practising certificate in NSW.
  • You will have a minimum of 3–5 years post qualifications experience with significant experience in, or advising to, government.
  • You are an experienced lawyer with advanced written and verbal communication skills, able to convey legal concepts clearly and succinctly.
  • You will have experience handling complex matters with multiple stakeholders.
  • You will be an experienced drafter, negotiator and communicator working closely with clients to drive practical outcomes.
  • You are a resourceful person with a proactive working style, who can work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • You will have a passion for law and enjoy working on a diverse range of matters. You will also enjoy working and collaborating as part of a hardworking and friendly team, including mentoring and developing junior lawyers of the team.
  • You will have outstanding communication skills and be able to successfully manage stakeholders and work with the broader legal team to ensure Sydney Metro's objectives are met overall (regardless of practice divisions).

Available for a Fixed Term contract until June 2026. Multiple Roles Available.
