Parkes Christian School is located in the Central West of NSW, within easy reach of cities such as Orange, Bathurst, Canberra and Dubbo. Our school is looking to fill a High School Mathematics/Science Teacher (Full-time or part-time permanent) positions for the 2026 school year

A bit about us

We have a back to basics approach to teaching Mathematics allowing students to build skills and understanding through simple and effective explicit teaching methods. Through the use of physical and online textbooks students can work their way through topics in class and at-home. We also employ a tutor who works with selected students during school time to engage with Mathematics content and revise difficult areas. Our Mathematics team also facilitates the Australian Mathematics Competition for students in advanced classes in 7-10. In Science we explore all areas of Science with a faculty who loves getting creative, sharing resources and planning. We celebrate Science Week with a great evening of experiments and competitions. With two labs, a lab technician and experience teaching all senior courses our focus is on bringing science to life for students and building skills relevant to life after school.

Position Description

We are seeking a motivated, energetic teacher with a genuine love of their subjects and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. We want a teacher whose passion for the subject is clear to everyone who walks into their classroom. We are looking for a teacher who can bring out the fun aspects of the courses and help students be curious about the world around them, and learn how to approach problem solving in a logical way.

Must be able to participate in curriculum planning and development, value the role of data in developing quality teaching practice, and be prepared to innovate when problem solving.

  • Appropriate teaching qualifications
  • Current NSW Working With Children's Check
  • Organised and meets deadlines
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills and exceptional class management skills
  • Knowledge and experience with explicit direct instruction
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively
  • Committed to Professional Learning to develop effective pedagogy
  • Successful experience in teaching Stage 6 is desirable but not required
