Overview

Experienced Support Worker Needed - Overnight Shifts (Complex Spinal Injury) – Hope Valley, SA

SACARE is a South Australian–owned and operated organisation providing in-home and supported accommodation care solutions. We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and experienced Disability Support Worker to assist a participant with a high-level spinal cord injury. The participant directs all aspects of their care and we are seeking workers with good communication skills. This is an overnight role requiring demonstrated experience in providing complex 1:1 care and supporting person-centred care, choice and control.

What will I be responsible for?
  • Overnight personal care including repositioning and personal care tasks as directed by the participant.
  • Domestic support such as cleaning and laundry.
  • Client-directed care: follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • Adhere to a detailed and structured care plan.
  • Maintain a respectful and low-profile presence in the home.
How will I help?

You will empower participants to achieve their goals and support their individual care needs in areas such as wellbeing, housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, and daily activities such as trips to the shops or social outings.

What do I need?
  • Current NDIS Workers Check
  • Current DHS Working With Children Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate with up-to-date CPR
  • Current Manual Handling Certificate
  • Unrestricted Driver's License
  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care or similar qualification
  • Basic Continence Aid Training (face‑to‑face within an RTO)
  • Assistance with Medication Training (face‑to‑face within an RTO)
