About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Welder / Fabricator / Fitter to join our team at Plastec Australia in Caloundra, Queensland. This full-time role will involve utilising your expertise in welding, fabricating and fitting to contribute to the success of our dynamic organisation.

What you'll be doing

Perform a variety of welding, fabrication and fitting tasks for production tooling and plant infrastructure to a high standard

Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and work orders to complete projects on time and to specification

Supporting the maintenance and servicing of injection moulding machines (160T to 5500T) and ancillary equipment (such as material handling systems, dryers, chillers, robots, conveyors).

Collaborate with the production and development teams to conduct regular inspections, to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities to maximise process improvement across multiple departments

Play a key role in setting up and maintaining new plant systems and equipment.

Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are well-maintained

Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

What we're looking for

Formal trade qualifications in welding, fabrication and / or fitting, with 3+ years' relevant experience

Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.

Experience maintaining injection moulding or other manufacturing machinery is desirable but not essential.

Commitment to quality workmanship and safety

Effective communication and teamwork skills

Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks across multiple locations.
