Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic Sterilising (CSSD) Technicians in a casual, part-time or full-time capacity reporting to the CSSD Manager. You will join a well-supported, dedicated and busy CSSD workforce that will expand your skills and experience. A supportive and comprehensive orientation program will support your transition into this role. At Epworth we perform a wide range of complex surgeries across all specialties. The recent introduction of the T-Doc instrument tracking system will assist you in your everyday practice to identify robotic, navigational and complex custom-made instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Be flexible to work across various shifts with high motivation, problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to constant changes in a busy environment.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Sterilisation or equivalent (preferable)
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of infection control requirements and Australian Sterilising Standard (AS/NZS 4187)
  • Excellent teamwork with ability to work collaboratively in a busy team with changing priorities
  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to build strong relationships within the CSSD team, theatres and other key areas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use computer systems
  • High level of understanding of OHS, good manual handling techniques and basic chemical safety in sterilising services
  • An understanding of and commitment to quality improvements

About Epworth

Epworth Freemasons consists of two sites: the Main Hospital in East Melbourne with 12 operating theatres and the Victoria Parade site with a further 6 theatres. Staff may be shared across sites. Primary specialities include Orthopaedics, Gynaecology/IVF, Urology, General, Plastics, ENT/Maxillofacial Ophthalmology and Endoscopy. Car parking is available at a discounted rate and accessible from Parliament Station.

The annual salary range for Instrument Technicians – AUD $57,295 to $70,824 + super + entitlements, dependent on year level (pro-rated for part-time).
