The Principal Workforce Data Analyst is responsible for leading the preparation and delivery of critical data analytics to support management and staff across the QAS. Utilising a range of tools and technologies, the role provides high level internal support, and seeks to continuously improve the delivery of workforce metrics relating to establishment management, payroll, recruitment and finance.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
  • Demonstrated experience in programming languages (e.g., MS SQL, DAX, M Query) and Power BI and the proven ability to build, query and validate datasets, to produce a range of data visualisation outputs (e.g., Advanced MS Excel, Power BI).
  • Proven success in the development and delivery of workforce analytics and contemporary HR Dashboards; including the research, analysis and interpretation of workforce information and trends within a complex multidisciplinary organisation.
  • Proven ability to work independently to manage competing priorities and ad hoc requests, while delivering accurate and timely data analysis and reporting using analytical tools and business intelligence systems.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with a strong focus on engagement and collaboration to identify needs and generate practical technical solution for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and develop team capability, foster collaborative working relationships, and monitor technical performance to achieve team and organisation goals.

The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
  • The possession of tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g., data analytics, data science or statistics).
  • Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, VBA and/or SQL.
