We're seeking experienced Security Officers with EXCEPTIONAL Customer Service skills for the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne CBD. Positions are available on a Full-Time, Part-Time, and Casual basis.

The successful candidate must be flexible to work on a rotating roster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a strong, friendly, and welcoming presence for visitors.
  • Conduct regular patrols of buildings, grounds, and public areas.
  • Manage access control for staff, contractors, and guests.
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents calmly and efficiently.
  • Assist visitors and staff with empathy and professionalism.
  • Write accurate, detailed reports.
  • Participate in emergency drills and security training.

Skills and Experience:

  • Current VIC Security License.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Working With Children Check.
  • VIC Driver's License.
  • Proven experience as a Security Officer, preferably in an education environment.
  • Excellent situational awareness and observation skills.
  • High standards of self-presentation and grooming.
  • A positive, proactive approach to daily situations.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and customer service.
  • Availability during evenings and weekends.
  • Strong written communication skills, including incident report writing.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work in a high-paced team environment.
  • High attention to detail.
