About The RoleCPCS are trauma-specific services for children, young people, and families/carers responding to violence, abuse, and neglect. The position involves providing counselling and psychoeducation to children, young people, and their parents or caregivers. The main goal is to ensure safety and work towards preventing recurrence of abuse, placement breakdown, and helping families address the impacts of violence, abuse, and neglect. Core tasks include counselling, coordination of health services, advocacy, consultation, support, education, and training on child protection issues.
Violence, Abuse, and Neglect services are delivered under the Priority Populations Program (PPP) within MLHD, working collaboratively through integrated services, joint projects, training, and client work.
Currently, there are two opportunities:
- A permanent part-time position (4 days/week, 32 hours) based in Wagga Wagga
- A temporary full-time maternity leave backfill until 27 March 2026, based in Griffith, Leeton, or Narrandera
