BLACKROC | General Manager - Recruitment Services

We're looking for an experienced Defect Manager to support a large-scale digital transformation within a major government agency. This role will lead defect lifecycle management across a complex Salesforce environment.

You'll work closely with testers, developers, product owners, and delivery teams to ensure timely resolution of defects, transparent reporting, and a strong focus on quality across the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end defect lifecycle across multiple Agile squads.
  • Facilitate daily defect triage sessions with delivery teams and stakeholders.
  • Analyse defect trends, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Act as the central point of contact for all defect-related communications across internal teams and vendors.
  • Collaborate with release managers to ensure defect fixes are tested and deployed accurately.
  • Use Jira and Xray to maintain defect workflows, dashboards, and traceability to test cases.
  • Generate weekly reports covering status, turnaround times, and quality KPIs.
  • Promote a culture of quality and coach teams on defect prevention and test coverage.

Skills & Experience

Required :

5+ years in defect / test management roles within Agile programs.Experience working in complex Salesforce environments (e.g. Service Cloud, Experience Cloud).Advanced Jira and Xray skills, including dashboards and workflow optimisation.Strong knowledge of defect metrics and test stages (SIT, UAT, production warranty).Proven ability to lead defect triage and governance forums under pressure.Excellent stakeholder management across cross-functional teams.ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Certification.Background in government, disability, or health-related sectors.Familiarity with CI / CD environments and integration testing.
