Job Title: Senior Mechanical/Piping Engineer

Duration: 12 Months (subject to extension)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Mechanical/Piping Engineer to join our team on a long-term contract basis, supporting sustaining capital projects for a major mining client. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of studies and engineering scopes across multiple operational sites.

You will report directly to the Engineering Manager, with oversight from the Project Manager, and play a key role in delivering high-quality design engineering solutions across both mechanical and piping disciplines.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to design engineering activities for sustaining capital projects.
  • Develop and review technical scopes, proposals, and studies.
  • Provide continuous input and value-add throughout project lifecycles.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Work on equipment and systems such as stackers, crushers, conveyors, chutes, wet and dry plants, and hydraulics.
  • Support project execution from concept through to detailed design and delivery.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in both mechanical and piping engineering within mining or heavy industry.
  • Strong background in design engineering, with the ability to contribute to studies and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with sustaining capital project environments is highly desirable.
  • Experience with equipment such as stackers, crushers, conveyors, chutes, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.

  • Comfortable working across multiple studies and adapting to evolving project needs.
