Job Description

Are you passionate about food and delivering exceptional service?

We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic Demi Chef to join our talented kitchen brigade at the Sydney Domestic Lounges.

Key responsibilities :

  • Take ownership of your designated section, ensuring smooth preparation and service delivery.
  • Step in to assist other sections when needed, while also guiding and supporting junior chefs.
  • Bring your genuine passion for food quality to the kitchen, setting a positive and professional tone for your colleagues.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety, and compliance standards, with a strong understanding of HACCP requirements.
  • Maintain consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in preparing and presenting all menu items.
  • Collaborate closely with the front-of-house team to deliver seamless and memorable experiences for our guests.

Qualifications

Key requirements for this role include :

Previous experience in a Demi Chef or similar role within a high-volume commercial kitchen.Experience with fine-dining presentation and cooking styles, across all sections (cold larder, pans, grill, sauces).Knowledge of a wide range of cooking methods and techniques.Experience working in a HACCP environment, with strong understanding of food safety compliance.Strong organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure.A team player who supports colleagues and contributes to a positive workplace culture.Ability to adhere to portion control, food waste, and production procedures.Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, with full availability on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays as required.
