SmartLynx Australia has recently taken over the route between Sydney and Lord Howe Island. As part of this expansion, we are seeking additional aircraft engineers to staff our base in Sydney.

Position Available

We are currently seeking to fill one (1) full-time position: 1x AME. Sponsorship visa and immigration agent support available for the successful candidate.

Roster: 5 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 4 days off. Early shift starting at 5:30 AM and late shift finishing around 8:00 PM, offering great work-life balance.

You will be responsible for:
  • Working under the supervision of the Engineering Manager as part of the engineering team to ensure all maintenance and certification of SmartLynx Australia aircraft comply with regulatory, manufacturer, and Part 145 MOE requirements.
  • Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including primary line maintenance activities, to maintain the ongoing serviceability and presentation of company aircraft on a daily basis.
  • Researching and ensuring the availability of parts for upcoming maintenance, testing equipment and tooling, and undertaking corrective rectification of aircraft systems and defects, including those away from base.
  • Contributing to the safety and quality management systems and travelling to other bases when required.
Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their application:
  • Hold (or be close to completing e.g. 3rd or 4th year apprentice) a Certificate IV or Diploma in Aeroskills (preferably in Mechanical or Avionics)
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of maintenance procedures
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a professionally diverse team
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to successfully obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) and provide applicable police clearances, including from country of citizenship
