A local council in the inner south-west is seeking a IT Desktop Support Officer for a 3-month contract, starting immediately. This role requires your presence in the office 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Communication : Send email communications to staff with deployment schedules and arrange appointments.
  2. Windows 11 Installation : Perform clean installations or upgrade existing systems from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
  3. User Profile Configuration : Set up user profiles, including desktop preferences, network settings, and custom configurations.
  4. Assist with Application Compatibility Testing : Ensure critical applications and third-party software are compatible with Windows 11.
  5. Network Configuration : Verify and set up network configurations such as Wi-Fi and VPN on devices.
  6. Troubleshooting and Support : Address issues post-deployment, including hardware/software conflicts and user inquiries, escalating when necessary.
  7. End-user Training : Train users on new Windows 11 features and UI changes.
  8. Collaboration : Work with support teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth deployment.
  9. Device Management : Collect out-of-warranty devices, securely wipe data, and arrange decommissioning.

Skills & Experience :

  • Experience with BIOS configurations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune (Autopilot, Device compliance, Configuration profiles, Application deployments).
  • Experience with Microsoft Configuration Manager (PXE boot, Device management, Task sequences).
  • Strong customer service skills, defect logging, documentation, and process improvement contributions.
