Seeking a Payroll Officer for an Australian business in Southwest Sydney with a headcount of circa 250 FTE across Australia.
Your new company is seeking a detail orientated and personable team addition who can manage payroll operations across a predominantly blue-collar workforce whilst also supporting broader projects across people operations aligned to business needs.
Onsite, Fairfield free parking
Responsibilities of the Payroll Officer will include:
- Payroll management – Ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian employment legislation and regulations.
- Providing guidance on policies, procedures, and employee queries related to payroll.
- Stakeholder engagement - to strengthen relationships across teams and communicate effectively with a remote workforce.
- Payroll and HRIS – leading on EMPLOYMENT HERO integration into the business for payroll and broader HR functionality.
- Communication with employees over the phone or in person to solve problems or upskill on payroll policy and procedure.
About you:
- Payroll expertise – Proven payroll management experience in Australia under Australian employment laws.
- Systems capability – Evidence of success implementing new payroll systems or HRIS helpful though not essential, training and advising stakeholders on payroll process and how to leverage systems in place.
- Problem-solver – Able to provide expert payroll advice and support broader HR initiatives where needed.
- Collaborative and takes initiative – As part of a lean team, able to roll up your sleeves and lean into opportunities to broaden your remit across other areas including contract administration and coordination for new starters, exits, and keen to take on projects where you see opportunity for improvement.
