Your New Role Looks Like This:

As a Financial Accountant in our Retirement Communities team, you'll play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial operations of our village portfolio, partnering closely with Village Managers and Residents' Committees to ensure smooth, transparent, and accurate financial processes.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage financial reporting for our retirement village portfolio, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and state legislation.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for Village Managers and Residents' Committees, supported by clear and meaningful commentary.
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition and expense accruals, including staff cost allocations across villages.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and follow up on outstanding variances in a timely manner.
  • Partner with Village Managers to support day-to-day financial decision-making and provide clear financial insights.
  • Attend quarterly Residents' Committee meetings and Village Annual Management Meetings (AMMs) to support financial transparency and communication.
  • Lead the preparation of annual resident budgets using a bottom-up approach and present these in resident budget meetings.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requirements, responding to requests and resolving queries as needed.
  • Visit villages regularly to support teams onsite and build strong working relationships.

About You:

  • Membership of a recognized accounting body is mandatory (CA or CPA qualified)
  • Strong accounting knowledge and attention to detail, ideally with experience in budgeting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Superior communication skills with an ability to adapt messaging for audiences and influence a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proficient in an ongoing process of identifying, analysing and making incremental improvements to processes to drive efficiency and quality
