About the Role:
The South Australian National Parks andWildlife Service has an exciting opportunity for an experienced andcapable person to take on a senior regional role as a DistrictRanger in South Australia. You will live on the western EyrePeninsula and lead a team working across a stunning and diverseterrestrial and marine environment.

The District Ranger Far West is responsible for the managementof the district's public land estate, including the network ofterrestrial, island and marine parks. The District Ranger leads acapable team of operational and Ranger staff based at three worklocations and works closely with Traditional Owners to manage parkconservation and heritage values, ensure park facilities and assetsare maintained and that visitors enjoy a safe and memorableexperience.

The District Ranger is an integral member of the regionalmanagement team and works collaboratively with Traditional Ownersand other Aboriginal partners to ensure the efficient and effectiveoperations of the District. The role works with other communityleaders and key partners to ensure mutually beneficial parks andwildlife management outcomes.

Contract:
Ongoing contract.

Special Conditions:

• Will be required to participate in emergency operationsincluding bushfire operations, search and rescue and marinemammal strandings. This may require, at times, some out ofhours work including participation in an "on-call"roster.
• Will be required to work some weekends and publicholidays.
• Will be required to undertake a medical and fitnessassessment for a Fire Fighting Role Classification as definedin the DEW Fire Management Policy and Procedures.
• May be required to work from any location within theregion, or any region or management unit within the state.
• Will be required to wear a uniform in accordance with DEWpolicy.
• A current class "C" driver's licence andwillingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd isessential.
• Intra and inter-state travel is required, includingextended periods of time away from home and travel in lightaircraft.
• A current Provide First Aid Certificate is desirable(HLTAID001; HLTAID002 and HLTAID003).
• This role has functions pertaining to working with childrenand is prescribed under the Child Safety (Prohibited Person)Act 2016 as requiring a Working With Children Check (WWCC). Byapplying for this role you consent to being screened forappropriate behaviour and to the Department obtaining, orrequiring you to obtain a WWCC.
• This role has been designated as a Position of Trustpursuant to the standards required in the Australian GovernmentProtective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this roleyou consent to being screened under the process of obtaining aNational Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Departmentrequiring you to obtain an NPC.

ASO7 $108,109 min - $116,864 max p.a.
