Everything we do is dedicated to enabling, celebrating and supporting older Australians to live and age positively.Our Baycrest home is set close to farmland, near to Hervey Bay's beaches, providing high-quality aged care in a friendly, secure, and relaxed residential environment.The Role (Newly Created)The Care Services Assistant plays a pivotal frontline carer role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a fulfilling life through person-centred care tailored to individual needs and preferences.
Responsibilities include:Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation, and serving of resident mealsProviding care and support aligned with residents' routines and preferencesFocusing on meal choices, nutrition, allergies, and food intolerancesEnhancing the dining experience socially and emotionallyEngaging with residents during mealtimes to promote social interactionUsing empathy and kindness to foster a positive dining environmentPromoting resident choice and dignityPreparing and maintaining dining areas and providing meal serviceMaintaining accurate nutritional and dietary recordsAssisting with food preparation following food safety standardsManaging kitchen stock supplies as requiredTo be successful, you will have:Strong customer service skillsA compassionate and caring attitudePrevious experience in restaurant or commercial kitchens (highly regarded)Willingness to follow directionsReliability and flexibility with shiftsGood time management skills and ability to work under pressureValid Australian work rights (passport, birth certificate, etc.)Ability to complete a police checkSeasonal flu vaccinations or willingness to obtainWillingness to obtain NDIS Worker Check or equivalent prior to starting; costs are refunded upon appointment
