Position Snapshot

A lovely family of three is seeking an experienced Senior Housekeeper to manage their home. The family includes a busy professional couple and an 8-year-old child, with a nanny assisting with childcare, household provisioning, and meal prep.

Candidates should be comfortable with animals, as there are guinea pigs, mice, and chickens. The household values eco-friendly products and methods.

This role requires attention to detail and a passion for smooth daily operations.

This is a dual role involving household management and housekeeping duties, ensuring the home is hygienic, clean, and well-maintained.

The successful candidate will uphold confidentiality and discretion.

Household Management Duties
  • Be the first point of contact for domestic staff (gardener/housekeeper)
  • Manage repairs and maintenance with external contractors
  • Inventory management (cleaning supplies, wine, decorations)
  • Organize residence, pantries, linen, wardrobes, etc.
  • Assist with ad hoc tasks
  • Some event management skills are desirable
Housekeeping Duties
  • Manage daily opening of the house and common areas
  • Coordinate bedding and towel changes
  • Handle laundry (washing, ironing)
  • Perform general housekeeping (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, tidying, bathrooms, rubbish)
  • Assist with pet care
Childcare Support

Occasional assistance with childcare, such as school runs, lunch prep, supervision at home, especially when nannies are unavailable or during early meetings.

Working Hours

Four days a week: Tuesday to Friday, 16-20 hours/week (approx. 4-5 hours per day). Flexibility for additional hours may be required.

Requirements
  • Australian resident (for longevity)
  • Police Check and Working with Children clearance (or willing to obtain)
  • Driver's license and own car
  • Reliable, trustworthy, discreet
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Pride in work and energetic
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in private home housekeeping
  • Knowledge of laundry, ironing, including delicates
Remuneration

Hourly rate: $40-$45 + Super, depending on experience and employment preference (Part-time or Casual).
