About the Opportunity

Run2Cure Brisbane is a fun run and family event raising vital funds for research into neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. As a volunteer, you'll play a key role in delivering a safe, enjoyable, and uplifting event for participants, families, and the broader community.

Volunteer Roles & Duties

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support our event across a variety of roles:

Check-in Assistants (Friday 8 August, 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM at MK Café, New Farm)

Help welcome participants, confirm registrations, and hand out race bibs and event info. A friendly attitude and attention to detail will go a long way in this role.

Run Course Marshals (Sunday 10 August, 6:30 AM - 1:00 PM, along the river)

Be part of the action on the course You'll direct participants, cheer them on, and ensure they stay on the right path. Ideal for those who enjoy being outdoors and encouraging others.

Water Station Assistants (Sunday 10 August, 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM, near the Old Fig Tree)

Keep our runners refreshed and energised You'll help set up the station, hand out water, and keep the area tidy.

Recovery Area Assistants (Sunday 10 August, 6:00 AM - 11:30 AM, New Farm Park)

Support participants post-race by offering refreshments and guiding them through the recovery area.

Skills & Experience

No previous experience is required, just a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to help. Clear communication and teamwork are essential across all roles. Full briefings will be provided before your shift.

About the Organisation

Neuroblastoma Australia is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for research into neuroblastoma, the leading cause of cancer deaths in children under five. Our goal is to make this cancer one that no child dies from.

Check-in Assistants: 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM

Sunday 10 Aug:

Run Course Marshals: 6:30 AM - 1:00 PM (split shifts available)

Water Station Assistants: 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM (split shifts available)

Recovery Area Assistants: 6:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Please arrive on time and stay for your full shift. A briefing will be provided before your role starts.

Training

Volunteers will receive a briefing before their shift to ensure they feel confident and prepared. This will cover role details, safety info, event overview, and who to contact. Training is provided on the day with support available throughout your shift.
