Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Queensland Police Service Full time

You will contribute to the development, coordination, and support of the facilitation and assessment of Police Recruits and in-service participants in other training programs. The program aims to equip Recruits / In-service program participants with the ability to function as sworn members of the Queensland Police Service.

Your Key Accountabilities
  1. Provide leadership and direction to plan, coordinate, and facilitate training programs in your area of responsibility to support professionalism, effectiveness, and efficiency of staff and the Service, in accordance with relevant standards.
  2. Manage the coordination of pre-service and in-service training calendars to schedule training and professional development for staff.
  3. Identify, develop, and implement strategies, and advise on the efficient coordination of training needs and activities.
  4. Coordinate and manage initial training and induction for new officers and staff to ensure professional development and completion of mandatory training within set timeframes.
  5. Monitor trends and emerging issues in education and training to improve service delivery outcomes.
  6. Provide expertise for consultation and advisory services to senior managers on best practices and innovative evaluation approaches for education and training.
  7. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders and service providers.
  8. Manage risk and ensure reporting compliance in coordination with the Officer in Charge, including hearing and blood tests.
Role Requirements

While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, possession of a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training or an equivalent qualification will be considered favorably.

Special Requirements
  • Supervise staff, sworn officers, and recruits in delivering education and training.
  • Hold an Open 'C' class licence.
  • Complete relevant operational skills, tactics, and driving courses if not already qualified, including Firearms, Tactics, Taser, Active Armed Offender, Tactical First Aid, and Driver Training courses.
Health and Safety Requirements
Hearing
  • Undergo baseline hearing assessment; specific thresholds for acceptable hearing levels are detailed.
  • Annual hearing tests are required, along with additional tests as deemed necessary.
Blood Lead Level
  • Baseline blood level testing prior to firearms activities; further testing as necessary.
  • Potential deployment within any Operational Training Services program/branch.
