The role

MidCoast Council is seeking a casual Gallery Technician to support the delivery of exhibitions and programs at the Manning Regional Art Gallery.

In this role, you'll assist with the preparation, installation and deinstallation of exhibitions and collection displays across our gallery spaces. Your responsibilities will include safe handling of artworks, supporting collection care and storage, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the gallery.

Working closely with our gallery team you will help realise exhibition concepts to a high professional standard. On a rostered basis, you will also provide front-of-house support, welcoming visitors and offering insights that enhance the visitor experience.

We're looking for someone with experience in exhibition installation and a sound understanding of best-practice artwork handling. Familiarity with framing and unframing techniques is essential. Just as important is your ability to work collaboratively — we value people who enjoy being part of a team, contribute positively, and take pride in delivering outcomes together. A strong sense of community focus is also key, with a genuine interest in making arts and culture accessible, engaging, and meaningful for our local audiences.

Remuneration : $34.49 per hour plus 25% casual loading.

Location : This position will be based at the Manning Regional Art Gallery, 12 Macquarie Street, Taree NSW 2430.

Tenure : Casual.
