About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering expert, evidence-based occupational therapy to individuals experiencing mental health crises, providing timely and person-centred interventions that promote recovery and wellbeing. You will play a key leadership role within the team by offering clinical supervision, guidance, and mentorship to junior staff, supporting their ongoing professional development. You will engage with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of holistic, integrated, and high-quality care. You will also lead and contribute to quality improvement projects and research initiatives, helping to shape and evolve the service to remain at the forefront of innovative mental health care.

Drawing on your advanced clinical reasoning and professional judgment, you will tailor your approach to meet the complex and diverse needs of clients, ensuring each individual receives care that is responsive, effective, and grounded in best practice. This position is based at Gosford Hospital working Monday to Friday 08:30am to 5:00pm.

About You

  • You hold a Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Occupational Therapy and registration as an OT with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency with a high level of broad generalist and/or specialist knowledge within OT.

  • Passionate about delivering person-centred, evidence-based care to individuals in crisis.

  • Unencumbered driver's license and ability to travel across the District and to other external sites as required.

  • Confident in managing complex cases using advanced clinical reasoning and independent judgment.

  • Committed to continuous improvement through quality initiatives and research involvement.
