Overview

Join CARS24 Australia as an experienced Roadworthy Mechanic/Inspector at our Laverton facility. You will inspect and certify vehicles for roadworthiness to ensure customers drive away in safe, reliable vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic inspections to ensure safety and performance standards.
  • Roadworthy Certification: Perform required roadworthy checks and verify vehicles meet compliance before delivery.
  • Repairs & Maintenance: Diagnose mechanical issues and carry out repairs, including brake work, engine diagnostics, and suspension
  • Collaboration: Work with internal teams to maintain smooth workflow and high customer satisfaction.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and certifications.
  • Quality Control: Perform final checks prior to vehicle handover to ensure quality delivery.
What We're Looking For (Qualifications)
  • Roadworthy Certification: A valid RWC licence is highly desired to perform roadworthy checks.
  • Mechanical Expertise: Proven experience as a Roadworthy Mechanic with strong automotive knowledge and diagnostic skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to identify issues and ensure full compliance of each vehicle.
  • Problem Solving: Skilled in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Communication Skills: Clear communication with team members and customers.
  • Qualifications: Formal automotive qualifications (e.g., Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology) and/or current RWC Licence are essential.
  • Trade qualifications (Australian Apprenticeship) and recognition via TAFE or equivalent are acceptable.
  • Additional Skills (Bonus): Experience with electrical diagnostics, air conditioning repairs, and other specialized skills.
