About The Position

Our Kyogle site has a welcoming and social team. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter with a strong work ethic to join us on a permanent full-time basis, covering Wednesday to Saturday shifts. If you enjoy working with fixed plant equipment and machinery, we are interested in talking to you. You will report to our Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for both preventative and corrective maintenance of site plant and equipment to a high standard, enabling maximum production levels.

We Are Looking For a Candidate Who Are Available To Pick Up a 4-day Work Week Roster In a Permanent Full-time Position At The Below Times

  • Wednesday – Saturday 5am-3:15pm

We offer a competitive hourly rate, variable depending on experience, with additional rates based on the roster and paid overtime opportunities as required. Overtime can be banked for time-in-lieu purposes as per the site EA.

Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To

  • Maintaining production levels by ensuring fixed plant equipment functions correctly to minimize downtime.
  • Performing repairs and servicing of fixed plant machinery, including treatment plant, stacking equipment, kilns, heat plant, moulders, and transfer belts.
  • Using sound judgment regarding maintenance decisions with regard to employee health and safety.
  • Minimizing breakdown time through quick fixes and thorough repairs between shifts.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have

  • Substantial experience as a maintenance fitter in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • A qualification in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is highly regarded.
  • Relevant tickets such as working at heights, confined spaces, forklift license are desirable.
  • Effective communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to high-quality work, capable of working independently and in a team.
  • Willingness to adapt for continuous improvement.
