SouthPeak Investment Management is an Australian boutique fund manager using systematic derivatives-based investment strategies with a long track record of delivering persistent outperformance with low correlation to bonds and equities. We are in an exciting expansion phase and looking to add an Operations and Compliance Manager to our team. Our working environment is positive and collaborative while at the same time having high performance standards.

The Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Operations and Compliance Manager to our team in Sydney. You will work independently running the day-to-day operational processes for our funds (liaising with our external fund administrator and brokers), as well as a range of other regular and ad-hoc operational and administrative functions. You will also look after the firm's and our funds' compliance duties, assisted by our external compliance advisor.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations

• Daily Process: update our systems for trades and cashflows, calculate our 'shadow' NAV and P&L, reconcile cash/positions/trades with external parties, instruct cash payments, review administrator NAV packs for approval and release unit prices
• Investor Statements & Communications: review material and manage performance reporting requirements
• Accounting: review BAS calculations prepared by our administrator, calculate fund distributions, work with the external auditor and fund administrator for the creation and audit of the Financial Statements
• Onboarding: assist in set-up requirements for new investors and new funds, and in the evaluation and set-up of new service providers

Compliance

• Fund Compliance: perform daily compliance checks against fund/mandate guidelines
• Corporate Compliance: perform regular corporate compliance tasks, keep registers up to date, prepare agenda and material for compliance committee meetings, monitor service providers, perform annual reviews of fund IMs and internal policies/procedures
• Reporting Obligations: manage regulatory and investor reporting requirements, and assist in the creation of the annual internal controls report (GS007)

About You:

• Accounting degree or similar
• 5+ years' experience gained in fund operations, funds administration or similar roles
• Strong understanding of fund accounting and fund processes
• Strong attention to detail
• Quick learner
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient with Excel
• Comfortable taking ownership of a range of tasks, working independently and in a small team
• Australian permanent resident or work visa holder
