Overview

Lead a dynamic program of veterinary care, research animal skills training and scientific services at the Monash Animal Research Platform (MARP). At the centre of a skilled and committed veterinary team, this position drives excellence in animal welfare and research support. It ensures the highest standards of quality and compliance, while building collaborations between the animal services team, researchers and external partners. Responsibilities
  • Shape MARP's veterinary care, scientific services and training programs, creating a workforce that is highly skilled, motivated and committed to best practice.
  • Provide expert technical advice with innovation, adopting new technologies and data-driven insights to elevate animal welfare and service quality.
  • Strengthen capability and collaboration between the animal services team, researchers and external partners to deliver impactful biomedical research.
  • Lead veterinary and scientific services to directly influence animal welfare and research outcomes through technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Oversee operations to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and research standards.
Qualifications
  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and expertise.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Veterinary Surgeon in Victoria is essential.
  • Deep knowledge of research animal management, animal welfare and regulatory compliance.
