Overview

Stantec is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join our Community Development team in Southeast Queensland. You will oversee civil design and documentation on urban, land and subdivision projects in public and private sectors, across a regional client portfolio. You will resolve design constraints, coordinate projects, interface with various disciplines, and deliver projects with the support of a multidisciplinary team. The role can be based in Maroochydore (Sunshine Coast), Carrara (Gold Coast) or Springfield (Ipswich) Stantec offices.

The Principal Civil Engineer will also be involved in initiating and managing business development opportunities, actively participate in and lead client service through establishing and maintaining strong relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Design, coordination and project management of urban, land and subdivision projects, from feasibility through to construction
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications
  • Provide technical expertise to clients and support projects
  • Manage projects including scheduling and the preparation of project budgets
  • Coordinate between disciplines on multidisciplinary projects
  • Prepare and review proposals, variation estimates and submission documents
  • Contribute to the development of Stantec's knowledge and skills in civil engineering including planning, design, and construction
  • Maintain existing and develop new, trusted relationships with key clients
  • Assist in the securing and delivery of projects by way of business development and client relationship management
What You Will Bring To The Team
  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering
  • Substantial experience in civil engineering design and the delivery of urban development projects (essential)
  • Experience and a sound understanding of current civil engineering technologies, including design, modelling and construction
  • Project management skills
  • Business development skills, local industry knowledge and connections in the market
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including report writing
