Downer and BMD have engaged in a Joint Venture to undertake the amplification works' Sydney Water require. With significant population growth in Sydney's Southwest catchment areas over the next 30 years, the West Camden Wastewater Recycling Plant will be amplified to meet customer's needs and stakeholder requirements.

**WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR**

Downer is seeking to appoint a Mechanical Supervisor to support the Mechanical upgrade works. The successful applicant will possess strong experience supervising major, complex mechanical construction projects and directly influence the day-to-day project outcomes through leadership and optimisation of crew operations. This role sits within a close-knit team who interface regularly with multiple skilled disciplines and Sydney Water operations.

The key responsibilities of this role include;
- Management and oversight of mechanical installation work crews.
- Developing and issuing permits to work, including high risk construction activities (I.E Working at heights, Critical Lifts, Confined Space etc)
- Ensuring installation works conform with all technical specifications.
- Manage Quality Assurance documentation.
- Interpret Engineering Drawings and resolve issues.
- Management of a project schedule and interface with competing disciplines across multiple work fronts.
- Coordinating and scheduling material and equipment deliveries.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers and Subcontractors to prioritise work requirements based on schedule and cost outcomes.
- Promote Zero Harm culture through leading-by-example and empowering site teams through accountability, risk management and awareness activities (took box talks, and daily pre-starts).

**ABOUT YOU**:

- Relevant mechanical or fabrication Trade Certificate or Diploma qualification in frontline management or equivalent.
- Experience in delivering mechanical works on major construction projects.
- Leadership acumen, and ability to coach and mentor across individual development, zero harm, and technical competencies.
- The ability to build strong working relationships with subcontractors and the desire to work within a team environment.
