About the Opportunity

Are you passionate about travel? An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Travel Consultants to join our industry-leading travel agency team in Geelong. We pride ourselves on delivering great service and creating unforgettable travel experiences for our customers.

This could be just the right role for you?

As a Travel Consultant, you will utilise your exceptional customer service skills and share your extensive knowledge of global destinations and passion for travel. You will be responsible for creating personalised travel itineraries and managing the customer experience from beginning to end. Your key responsibilities include:

  1. Promote holiday packages, flights, hotels, cruises, tours, experiences & insurance
  2. Build relationships with customers face-to-face and online, managing enquiries, quotes, itineraries, amendments, and cancellations
  3. Facilitate domestic & international travel bookings and payments using Amadeus GDS
  4. Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings, cross-sell & up-sell travel products
  5. Manage travel credits, refunds, and changes
  6. Attend sales meetings and achieve targets & KPIs
  7. Attend industry events such as supplier & product events, ship inspections & travel expos

Our Geelong store is open 6 days a week, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, and Saturday 9am-2pm. Our team works during these hours with occasional out-of-office industry events.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Retail travel agency experience, essential
  • Certificate 3 in Travel or higher, preferred
  • GDS experience in Amadeus, Sabre or Galileo
  • Passion for the travel industry and personal travel experience
  • Great customer service & communication skills
  • Excellent organisational, attention to detail & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage workflow, set goals, meet sales targets & work productively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent personal presentation
  • Ability to attend induction training Monday-Friday for the first 2-3 weeks at our CBD Melbourne head office & store, with travel costs covered by RACV
