The Smith Family is a national children's education charity dedicated to supporting children and young people experiencing poverty to reach their full potential through holistic, long-term educational support.
About the role
We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our Program Analytics and Reporting Team. You will support the monitoring, review, and delivery of the Growing Careers Project and other impactful programs for children and families.
This hands-on role is suitable for both early career and experienced data analysts who possess the required skills and experience. You will be part of a small, collaborative, and productive team, where your analysis will make a meaningful difference daily. Reporting to the Program Analytics & Reporting Manager, your responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand and translate data and reporting needs into solutions.
- Creating dashboards and reports to turn data into actionable insights for decision-making.
- Collecting, cleansing, interpreting, and analyzing data to answer specific business questions.
- Preparing quarterly and semester reports for the Growing Careers Project.
- Consolidating key data for The Smith Family's Annual Impact Report and other program outcome reports.
- Supporting data-related queries and promoting effective data practices and data-driven decision-making.
- Developing resources to improve data usage and recording processes.
About you
Alongside a passion for community, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience.
- Data extraction and analysis skills using SQL on relational datasets.
- Experience with Power BI and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables).
- Excellent analytical and communication skills for synthesizing and summarizing data.
- Curiosity, problem-solving abilities, and stakeholder management skills.
- A mindset geared towards continuous improvement, adaptability amidst change and ambiguity.
