Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Stormwater Engineer Design (S7.11) to join the Asset Design team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role contributes to creating a liveable, safe and sustainable Blacktown City through the design of stormwater infrastructure and catchment management across the North West Growth Area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete allocated civil designs and tasks in accordance with professional engineering standards
  • Assist in providing input into strategic documents such as reviews of Local Environmental Plans (LEP), State Environmental Planning Policies (SEPP), Development Control Plans (DCPs), S7.11 Developer contributions plans and policies
  • Assist with the preparation of technical stormwater documents and provide technical expertise to stakeholders
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • At least 5 years post-qualification experience in the survey, investigation and design of stormwater management infrastructure and cost estimates
  • Demonstrated experience in civil stormwater engineering with a focus on water sensitive urban design
  • Experience in managing financial budgets with forecasting
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
  • At least 5 years' experience with GIS packages and Microsoft Office; design experience with AutoCAD, 12D and water engineering applications such as DRAINS, HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS, TUFLOW and MUSIC
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to stormwater, catchment and floodplain management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team
  • Current class C driver's licence
Desirable Qualifications
  • Engineers Australia Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) qualification and National Engineering Registration (NER)
  • Experience in CM9, Technology One and CIA
Remuneration and Benefits
  • Salary and conditions in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement
  • Entry level for this position starts at $2,252.09 per week
  • 35-hour working week
  • Car allowance
